Casey Van Maris

Casey Van Maris began his soccer career when his wife gave his name as a volunteer coach while registering their children at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Soccer Club.  This launched a career as a soccer volunteer that would impact not only those he coached that season, but many years of service that would impact the club; district; provincial and national landscapes.

Casey was a solid supporter of the York Region Soccer Association and became the first President of the YRSA.  While with the YRSA, Casey also served on the OSA Finance Committee from 1987 to 1991.

Casey moved on to the OSA as their Treasurer from 1989 to 1991.  Casey was a major force in the building of the Soccer Centre in Vaughan, and brought the OSA into good financial footing. 

Casey filled the role of OSA President from 1991 to 1995.

From 1990 to 1997 Casey was asked to serve on the CSA Finance Committee, ultimately becoming the CSA Treasurer from 1995 to 1997. 

 

Joseph Rando

Joseph Rando was first recruited by the Toronto City FC and joined their youth team, where he remained until 1964 when he moved to join the T/D Division One Senior League at the age of 17 and was voted Rookie of the Year.

Joseph went on to play for various teams in the same senior league, including; Milan FC, Sora Lazio, Delia and Toronto Sparks.  Joseph moved on to Amicizia Soccer League with Italfina to win two league titles.

A coaching career began for Joseph with youth players in 1982 starting with the Concord Jets in the YRSL League.   Thereafter, Joseph found a shared connection for the passion of soccer with the Woodbridge Soccer Club in 1983.  Coaches were united at Woodbridge SC in their vision of achieving the best club, with the best players.

Joseph won the 1st Ontario Cup for both the Woodbridge SC and the YRSA in 1989.  Joseph coached teams to two Outdoor Ontario Cup wins, two Indoor Ontario Cup wins, and was twice named the NSL Coach of the Year.

Joseph served as a board member of the Woodbridge SC, with various roles, from 1983 to 2006.  Joseph also served on the YRSL Board from 1983 to 1985 and the YRSA from 1985 to 1991 in various roles.

Joseph was the Head Coach for the Woodbridge SC from 2007, to 2014 and has been fortunate to coach players such as Jim Brennan, Gianni Cimini, Fernando Aquair, Marco Reda and Julien Uccello.
